Christmas Concert New Horizons Band

DaddyDaddy plays french horn in the New Horizons Band.  This weekend they had their traditional Christmas concert. It was fun listening to some traditional Christmas songs and hearing some new arrangements.  The band did a very good job. I think it was the best concert they have done that I have been to.

Nutcracker

NutcrackerToday we went to see the Nutcracker at the Morris Performing Arts Center.  We were able to take my nephew David, and a friend, Evie, with us this year. It was a good show even though Adrian said “it was just like last year!”

After the show, we walked down the street and enjoyed a few decorations.

ChristmasballThen we went to the South Bend Chocolate Company Factory and had lunch.  We tried caramelized molasses candy called Seafoam.  Of course, we did not leave before we had picked out some candy to take home.

It was a wonderful day of school!

Hide and Seek

Hide and seekAudrey came upstairs to ask if we had seen Megan.  We realized that we had not for quite a while.

Following her downstairs, Audrey showed us Megan hiding in the closet. We “called” for her and “tried to find her”, but she refused to move or make any noise.

I am not sure how long she stayed hiding in the closet, but it was probably 20 minutes before she finally came out.

Snow Day

Yesterday was our first snow day of the season.  The kids made a sledding hill and snowmen. Andrea walked across the street with me and then got attacked with snowballs by the neighbors. Mark enjoyed helping with snowmen that kept “running away”. It was a great start to winter!
