The Swing

Today, while the other kids went to the dentist, Mark, Megan and I enjoyed the park.  We took our cameras, hoping to find some good pictures.

We saw more deer during our walk then we did all last year.  We practiced getting pictures of birds and flowers.  Then after our “lessons”, we played at the playground.

Mark introduced Megan to the tire swing.  She loved it!  I was surprised that she did not dizzy or fuss about going around in circles.
The Swing
Robert Louis Stevenson

How do you like to go up in a swing,
Up in the air so blue?
Oh, I do think it the pleasantest thing
Ever a child can do!

Up in the air and over the wall,
Till I can see so wide,
River and trees and cattle and all
Over the countryside–

Till I look down on the garden green,
Down on the roof so brown–
Up in the air I go flying again,
Up in the air and down!

  1. I love the pictures. Especially the one with Mark and Megan both on the swing looking at each other. You know that Great Grandma Reble used to quote that poem all the time when I was little. Love it.
