Winter Grass

The moon was brighter and the sky clearer than last night, and I had fun experimenting with more moon pictures.

God created  nature for me to admire, but I often am too busy to go out and enjoy his beauty.  I am glad that I had time tonight to find something new!

November Morning

This was the view out of our front window this morning.  Watching the clouds move by and the changing colors created a very distracted Momma.

“Have you ever noticed a tree standing naked against the sky,
How beautiful it is?
All its branches are outlined, and in its nakedness
There is a poem, there is a song…
By Jiddu Krishnamurti (1895 – 1986)

Fog

It has been a different fall.  The days are warmer and we have had less cold rainy days than normal.  Today we woke up to a thick fog.  It was a pain to drive in, but it was beautiful!

Audrey came out with me to see if she could get “swallowed up”. She said it felt cold. She liked it though.

Then Adrian come out.  He wanted to learn what fog was.  Allan was leaving for work, so he came out to play a few minutes with Adrian.  They both enjoyed the fog too.

Thanksgiving Praise…Lauri

My sister Lauri is recuperating from a bad fall!  She had the flu and  fell when she got dehydrated.  She is better and getting lots of needed sleep.  I am very thankful that she was not hurt worse in the fall and that she is able to get the rest she needs to heal.

(Dad just gave me a few fun slides of when we were little, and I thought this one of Lauri very cute!)

Thanksgiving Praise–Learning Wherever

I am so thankful that the children can stay home and learn with me.  We do not have to sit behind desks. We can learn without books.  We often learn by doing.

Today we had school in the car.  Mark took a science test and everyone did some math.  Then Mark read out loud so everyone could enjoy the story they are reading.

Then we went exploring. We visited Yoder’s Popcorn (in Topeka) and tasted some really good popcorn. We experimented with the different toppings they had in stock.  Then we went to E&S Sales (Shipshewana), tasted a few things and bought a few needs.  We dreamed about seeing our friend’s car in their Grandma’s driveway so we could stop by and surprise them 🙂 on the way to our break at Krider’s World Fair Gardens (Bristol).  We finally came home and enjoyed relaxing from our very fun school day.

Thank you God that I have the privilege to learn along with my children. Thank you that we can learn in so many different places!
