This beautiful basket of wild flowers was discovered after answering the door bell. Whoever left them wrote a note saying they were for me and then disappeared. What a sweet surprise.

More Spring Flowers
While the older girls enjoyed going to MOPS, I took Adrian and Megan to explore Wellfield Gardens. The spring flowers are starting to come up and it was a beautiful day to go exploring.
Spring Scavenger Hunt
Every spring, since reading Miracles on Maple Hill, we have enjoyed a spring scavenger hunt. We search in the woods and at the park, looking for our favorite flowers.
I can not always remember their names, but recall more each year.

Old Friends
Many years ago, when we just had Mark, a family invited us to their house for dinner. We enjoyed our time and over the years, our friendship grew.
It was wonderful being able to spend a few days with Dave, Kristi, Cardin, Reece, and Casteel and just be together.
April Weather
After a lot of rain and a short thunderstorm yesterday, we woke up to snow this morning.
Maple Treats
It was a crazy year for sap, but we ended up with a lot of wonderful treats!
The first is maple sap, which is good as a drink or added to chili. Then syrup, maple cream, candy and then maple sugar!
Raccoon
The weather has warmed up. Audrey noticed this raccoon hanging around our sap buckets this afternoon. She tried chasing it away by banging a spoon in a pan. It only ran up our maple tree and then took a nap. It is still enjoying its cozy napping space.
While it slept, we made sure all the lids were tight on the sap buckets and then put a heavy brick on each one. We do not want a nosy raccoon to ruin the sap we collected!
Rain Rain, Please Go Away!
After getting over a foot of snow last week, and then having it all melt in the last two days, along with rain–my dad’s rain gauge says 5.05 inches, we have a lot of water in the yard. On the side of the house, the water was halfway to Adrian’s knees. The air ducts under the house are full of water.
The girls spent most of the day wet vacuuming the ducts dry. Megan practiced keeping tally of all the times the vac was emptied (at least 240 times). Allan and Adrian worked on creating a ditch to divert some of the standing water to the back acre.
Hopefully, the rain will stop soon, we will get a breeze and everything will dry up quickly.

We went to visit the neighbors’ animals this morning. Megan enjoyed playing with Betsy.
