Nutcracker
Today we went to see the Nutcracker at the Morris Performing Arts Center. We were able to take my nephew David, and a friend, Evie, with us this year. It was a good show even though Adrian said “it was just like last year!”
After the show, we walked down the street and enjoyed a few decorations.
Then we went to the South Bend Chocolate Company Factory and had lunch. We tried caramelized molasses candy called Seafoam. Of course, we did not leave before we had picked out some candy to take home.
It was a wonderful day of school!
Fairy Door
After church on Sunday, it was beautiful out. We decided to go the park for a picnic. We grilled sausages, ate s’mores and just enjoyed the wonderful weather.
We wanted to walk, so we explored the woods by the river. Audrey discovered a little door in one of the trees. It was fun to imagine all the possibilities on how it got there.
Colorado Trip–Society News
Following tradition, Audrey and Andrea McGuire hosted a “high tea” for relatives soon after arriving in Colorado. Both girls worked hard making the event the highlight of the week. Using freshly picked wildflowers as a centerpiece, the girls finished decorating with tea cups discovered by their great-aunt.
The girls provided chocolate cowpies, chocolate chip meringues and pecan cookies they lovingly prepared earlier. Special treats were also brought by the girls’ Oma and great-aunts. Assorted teas were offered. Entertainment was provided by the girls’ uncle and brother who sang “Buffalo Girls”.
Each year, the formal tea party grows in number. The hostesses were pleased to discover that they were the very first to have ever invited Grandma Green to a tea party!
Knowing the next tea will be eagerly anticipated, the girls will continue to expand on their culinary skills and search for exquisite teas to offer.
Rodeo
The kids earned tickets to the 4-H fair this year for doing a lot of reading. We decided to go on Friday night so we could enjoy the rodeo.

Mommy Camp in Review
Monday: Spent the day with Oma while Mommy drove the others to camp. (See hand drawn pink picture of Oma and me when I am as big as Mark). Ate dinner with Oma, Opa and Uncle Phil and his family.
Tuesday: Learned about fish at Nature Nuts. “Caught” a Pike “this big”. Played at the playground. Daddy surprised me my taking me to Wings Etc. for lunch! Took a rare nap. Beat Daddy at Uno more than once. Started to learn Psalm 117.
Wednesday: Daddy dropped us off at the park. After playing we walked two miles home. Painted sun catchers. Went to church and played with some friends.
Thursday: Babysitting Audrey’s butterflies this week. Enjoyed playing with the newly emerged ones. Washed dishes to surprise Momma. Made “tea” with Crispix “cookies” for snack. Played with finger paints. Read lots of stories. Had a pizza party with some friends from church. Had a starring role in a mini concert.
Friday: Read stories. Finished some needed chores. Discovered play dough and played with it for hours. Went to library for more good books. Went to store and told to pick anything for dinner, chose curly fries and hamburgers. Stayed up late catching fireflies. Brought them inside where they all escaped. After catching them all, they escaped the second time from a different jar.
Saturday: Bought blueberries. Visited Oma and Opa. Went to ice cream store for lunch but got caught in major storm. Decided to eat lunch at home curled up with books. Almost know all of Psalm 117. Everyone came home!
