Releasing Butterflies

Audrey and Megan had fun releasing eight Monarchs this evening. We still have some chrysalises and a few caterpillars, but this year’s Monarch season is almost finished for Audrey.

Colorado Evening

This is the driveway to “Grandma’s house” one beautiful evening.

Megan’s Lunch Special

The neighbors gave the kids a bunch of windfall apples to make applesauce with.

It sounded like Audrey discovered a worm and asked Megan if she wanted it sauteed in onions. Megan love the idea and wrote our lunch menu for today.

Relaxing outside and watching the hummingbirds is a favorite activity of mine. For most of this summer, we have not had many birds visit. I suspect a neighbor’s feeder is preferred! However, yesterday we had a lot of migrating hummers stop at our feeder.

Bouquet

Megan brought me a beautiful wild flower bouquet. Andrea taught her how to tie a grass bow around it to make it even prettier.

Roses

This morning when I got up, I discovered Allan had gone out already and brought home two dozen roses in my favorite colors; deep pink and orange with pink trim. They are so pretty and I feel so spoiled!

Playing in Colorado

I finally have a chance to catch up on pictures from our trip to Colorado.

Colorado Tradition

We have taken a picture of Mark in front of this building ever year we have gone to Colorado since 2011.

Kissing Contest

Instead of doing a huge group photograph during the reunion, we decided it would be nice to do a picture with Grandma and her children. We took family pictures of the “original seven” with their children and grandchildren. Then we narrowed it down to each individual family.

It was raining and not the best time to take family photos. So about half way through, we started the “kissing contest”. It made pictures a lot more fun and we captured some great memories.
