My great nephew came to visit today. He is usually very happy and loves to play with the kids, but we woke him up from his nap accidentally so he was not as cheerful as normal. I loved how his “puppy dog” eyes told us so much!

Bragging on Audrey
Audrey is most interested in Monarch butterflies, but she also enjoys photographing the outdoors. This year she earned Honorable Mentions for her “Momma” and “Fairy Door” photographs at this years Elkhart County Parks Photo Contest.
Bragging on Megan
This was the second year that Megan entered pictures into the Elkhart County Parks Photo Contest. She works very hard getting good pictures and hopes to earn a ribbon next year. She asked Mr. Courtney (who is in charge) and he said she was youngest to enter any pictures! We learned later that the next youngest entry was taken by a ten year old.
Keep up the good work Megan!
Jump in Puddle Day?
Today is “national jump in puddle day and splash your friends day.” Enjoy it if you can find unfrozen puddles!
Perfect Posing
This is why I often let the kids pose themselves for pictures. After spending most of the weekend playing light saber games, these are the perfect pictures to remember the weekend playing with friends.
Christmas Play
My kids were all part of a Christmas play this year. Audrey and Adrian were both wise men. Megan got to be a scribe. Mark worked on lights and sound and Andrea helped where needed.
It was a lot of work but they did well memorizing their parts. They enjoyed getting to know the children at church better during the rehearsals. All of them enjoyed performing the play and did a great job!

Sweet Surprise
Allan had today off of work. Unfortunately, he got up his normal time. He went upstairs because the lights were on and discovered Megan and Thor sleeping with the Christmas lights turned on. He noticed the milk and cereal on the table too.
When we asked Megan about it later, she said she woke up hungry and got herself breakfast. Then she curled up to go back to sleep. She said that Thor was upstairs keeping her company.
Playing with Lights
Megan asked if we could please play with Christmas lights like we did last year.
Old Friend
For years, the kids measured their growth by the nutcracker at church. We changed churches and stopped that tradition. Yesterday, we went to a concert at our old church and saw a few old friends. We discovered our nutcracker shrunk a lot!
