It has not been a good years for Monarchs, so we decided to create something special with the ones we could release.

Not sure how many butterflies Audrey released last night, but I think around 30. We decided to have some fun and see how many she could hold and release at one time. The Monarchs were ready to leave, but she could hold around 10 without help.
More butterflies soon! Listening to her, this is the best of the last few years.
The kids enjoyed playing with the neighbors today.
I have been wanting to play with composites and the kids helped me with this idea. It is not great, but it is a fun start.
It has been a difficult year finding Monarchs, at any stage, in the wild.
Audrey discovered if she bleaches the eggs of sick butterflies, the offspring have a good chance of being healthy.  She set up a nursery and managed to collect a lot of eggs this year. I do not know exact numbers, but she has released over 150 Monarchs this summer!
Last year, I shared the “Crystal Bubble” picture that I had made. I liked the snow globe look, so I kept playing.
I am curious. I am attempting to “capture the cold” with these two pictures. Which one do you prefer, and why?
Thanks!
