One of the many great things about home schooling, is watching the children interact with each other. They enjoy teaching each other what they can. Mark is teaching Adrian how to use a camera. He thought of putting it on the tripod so Adrian could get some good pictures.

Hooray for Spring Flowers!
I love watching the spring flowers emerge! The children enjoy watching for my favorites and trying to discover them before I do. Audrey is on the search for Forget Me Nots, because they are one of her favorites too.
Palm Sunday Choir
Four Years Old
He requested a dinosaur cake, so I made a brownie and let the kids decorate it with their toy dinosaurs. It was the best looking cake I have seen in a long time! Adrian thought it was perfect, just what he wanted. It tasted great with the chocolate chip and the raspberry chocolate ice creams he chose.
Mud and Spring
Spring Flowers
The crocus are up! Spring is here! The girls were so excited finding the first flowers in our yard. They both loved tucking flowers behind their ears and bringing me my first bouquet of the year. They love the flowers as much as I do!
The neighbor offered to let them pick his daffodils when they come up…wonder how many flowers they would leave him if they were allowed to pick to their hearts content?
Spring Nature Walk
Yesterday, Adrian and I got to explore Oxbow Park while the older kids had Science Slueths. We spent our time looking for signs of spring. Adrian got to lead me around and we found many things–including our first turtle of the year! While I would still love to make another snowman this year, I am excited for spring!
Interesting Discovery
Dreams
Adrian has white chocolate chips in his hands. Here is his story about them.
“You can eat them. You can plant them. You put them in the dirt snow and they turn into seeds. They grow into a chocolate chip tree. The tree is blue and the chocolate chips are black!”
I found the following poem while looking for new ones for the kids to memorize. I thought it fit very well!
Little Brother’s Secret
By Alfred A. Knopf (1924)
When my birthday was coming
Little Brother had a secret:
He kept it for days and days
And just hummed a little tune when I asked him.
But one night it rained
And I woke up and heard him crying:
Then he told me.
“I planted two lumps of sugar in your garden
Because you love it so frightfully.
I thought there would be a whole sugar tree for
your birthday.
And now it will all be melted
O the darling!
