My little Miss Megan is growing so quickly! She loved Colorado and enjoyed being able to explore a little on her own. She learned how to paint and tried to help in other ways.
She especially enjoyed meeting cousins and having lots of other children–of all ages!– to play with during the reunion.
Andrea turned 16 on Saturday! One of her favorite gifts are flowers, so she enjoyed being able to get pictures with 16 long stem roses.
Happy sweet sixteen to my extra sweet princess. Daddy and I love you very much!
In Colorado we spend time exploring and visiting relatives. We also spend a lot of time working. This year Mark helped paint the house and pulled a lot of cactus!
After working all morning, Mark was still enjoying being outside and working hard!
This was a complete double rainbow!
Audrey and Megan had fun releasing eight Monarchs this evening. We still have some chrysalises and a few caterpillars, but this year’s Monarch season is almost finished for Audrey.
This is the driveway to “Grandma’s house” one beautiful evening.
The neighbors gave the kids a bunch of windfall apples to make applesauce with.
It sounded like Audrey discovered a worm and asked Megan if she wanted it sauteed in onions. Megan love the idea and wrote our lunch menu for today.
Relaxing outside and watching the hummingbirds is a favorite activity of mine. For most of this summer, we have not had many birds visit. I suspect a neighbor’s feeder is preferred! However, yesterday we had a lot of migrating hummers stop at our feeder.
Megan brought me a beautiful wild flower bouquet. Andrea taught her how to tie a grass bow around it to make it even prettier.
This morning when I got up, I discovered Allan had gone out already and brought home two dozen roses in my favorite colors; deep pink and orange with pink trim. They are so pretty and I feel so spoiled!
