Blessed

UsGod has blessed me so much! I have a wonderful husband who shows me everyday that he loves me.  Allan comes  home for lunch on most days, so he can spend some time with us. He knows I love written encouragement and takes time to write notes.  He encourages me to try new things. He pushes me to go a little bit further and do more that I thought I was capable of.

Allan loves on the children daily. He enjoys reading with them or helping them through tough school classes. He teaches them skills that they will need to succeed.  Allan challenges them to take risks, get out of their comfort zone and try new things.  They still talk about hiking with bears and canoing.

I love you Allan!  You are a wonderful example of what a man who wants to follow Christ can be. It is a joy being your girlfriend and wife!

First Day of School

SchoolEven though we learn at home all year, during the summer we focus less on book learning, and more on personal projects.  This year the children took archery classes and Mark and Allan worked on a few projects together.  Audrey learned a lot about butterflies.  Adrian learned how to ride a bike.  Andrea did different things she was interested in.

But we always have one special day that we call “the first day of school”.  Today was our official first day of school.  Megan is a preschooler, Adrian is in third grade, Audrey is in sixth and Andrea is in seventh grade.  Mark is a tenth grader!

We are looking forward to a fun year!

Megan

MeganMegan says that Mommy camp was a lot of fun. One day we picked daisies and Queen Anne’s Lace for a science experiment.  We put the flowers in water and watched them change color.  She hopes we can do more experiments even though the big kids are home again.

Adrian and Mommy Camp

AdrianThis week was Mommy Camp. The younger children and I plan a week full of fun when the older children go to camp. We do things that they like to do the best; like painting, doing chalk art, learning new recipes, and playing at the park.

We did not do everything we planned this week. But the kids and I had a lot of fun.

Last night, we went to the park for a picnic and to play for awhile. We attempted to fly a kite, but we were doing something wrong. Adrian talked about how Charlie Brown rarely keeps a kite flying. I guess he knew how Charlie Brown felt. We played by the water and watched bees around wild flowers.

It was a great week of camp!
