We have taken a picture of Mark in front of this building ever year we have gone to Colorado since 2011.

During the reunion, I loaned my camera out once or twice.  Someone offered to take a picture of Allan and me. After the click, we heard a bunch of giggling.

Just another time when Andrea’s timing is perfect and she plays an unexpected trick on us.

In case you need a smile today….

We got to play for the last days of Mommy camp, but we also worked on getting ready for the kids to come home. Here is Megan’s version of her last few days.

I slept in a long time! I ate breakfast and then we played in the pool.

We worked on cleaning the house.  Then we ate lunch. Momma made us a special blueberry Sunday for snack.

Then I learned how to make pickles!  They are easy. All you have to do if boil a brine and then put cucumbers in a jar with dill and garlic.  Then you add the brine! Then you put the lid on.  We made five jars.

We had curly fries for dinner.

Then we got some glow sticks and made bunny ears with them. We catched lightening bugs. Then we slept out in the tent.We talked to Daddy on the phone. Momma read me a book before I fell asleep.  It started storming. I slept most of the storm.  Then we went into Momma’s room and slept.

I slept very long until Momma woke me up on Saturday. We did some shopping and got blueberries. Then we played Clue and played outside. Then the kids came home!  Hooray!  I made them grilled cheese sandwiches because they were hungry from their drive home from camp.

 

Megan wanted to share what she did for “Mommy Camp” again.

We were very busy on Wednesday. We played with Legos and took pictures of them doing silly things. I hope to show those pictures to you later.

We played outside a lot. We made pictures with glitter and played outside some more.

When Mark got home we went to the library and then to Meijers –BORING– and got home just in time to go to work!

After dinner, Mark and I did an experiment. He made a mobius strip out of button candy. He asked how we should eat it. We started eating the middle section and it kept going around! It surprised me. It was fun.

Then Mark painted a picture with me before bed.  We were so busy we only read at bedtime!

Megan is my guest speaker again today.

I had a lot of fun at Mommy Camp today. After eating breakfast, we took a walk and looked for baby bunnies and frogs.  We found one rabbit (no babies) and ten frogs! One of them scared Momma!  It croaked loudly and then jumped.  Momma jumped too, four feet in the air!

On the way home we played a game. Only looking at our shadows, Momma had to catch my hand.  But I did not let her.  Then we made funny shadows on the road.

We took care of butterflies and I tried to catch one outside.  It was too fast for me. It was fun playing catch with a butterfly.

Then we went home and I played on the tire swing while Momma read to me. Thor sat under the tire swing listening too. Mark fixed it so it was tall and I did not hit Thor.  He liked the shade and the cool dust. I liked the dirt too. I got all dirty! I painted my legs with it 🙂

When Mark came home I went to Steak and Shake with him on a date! He bought me a mint chocolate chip shake. The waitress dropped our order by our table.  We waited for another one. Then we came home and went to work.

I made macaroni and cheese for dinner. It had bunny noodles. It was good. Then it was bed time and I fell asleep fast.

Megan wanted to tell you about the first day of “Mommy Camp”.

I am not very sure what time I got up.  I was very tired and it was still dark out! After I watched the kids leave and then Mark leave for work, I went back to bed.

In the morning, I woke up early again, earlier than I normally do. I got changed. I played outside a little bit. I did a little work and we took a walk.  We were looking for bunnies. We saw two baby bunnies!

After lunch and nap, we painted our sign. Then we took care of the butterflies.  We moved them into a different cage and made sure they were all fed.  The rest of the day we played on the tire swing until Mark got home.

We had a cinnamon roll picnic.  Then Mark and I played until it was time for work.  I helped at work, picked some veggies and then got to play on the “scissors”. Then I got to play with the chickens.

Then it was time for dinner.  Daddy brought home some pasties and we had ice cream.  Before bed we had our devotions and then Mark read to me.

I was very tired and do not know how long it took to fall asleep.

 

The kids were up early this morning, all excited to head to camp!  This year, both girls will have a friend join them. Audrey has her friend Casteel, and Andrea gets to enjoy Evie.  Maybe next year we can find a friend for Adrian.

Please pray for camp this week.  Please pray that the kids are encouragements to their counselors and other campers they interact with.  Please also pray that each one will hear and understand something new that will help them grow in Christ.

This is the first year that Mark has not gone to camp in a long time.  After thinking and praying about it, he decided to stay home and work.  I think that he is looking forward to the chance of going to “Mommy Camp” with Megan though! Megan said she plans for them to go out on dinner and ice cream dates.

When the water balloon launcher we bought broke, we decided it was not worth trying to repair it again.  So the kids came up with another idea for keeping cool.
