A Momma Robin built her nest over our front door. Audrey asked if we could climb up and see what was in the nest. She was so excited to find two babies!
We did not stay to admire them long, Momma was not too impressed with our interruption!

I am trying hard NOT to use the automatic setting or the Programmed setting on my camera. I used to know how to adjust the camera manually, but it has been so long, I forgot. But, I am happy to say that I managed a few good pictures today, mostly by accident!

Occasionally, we have unexpected visitors in our backyard. Today a couple of turkeys were courting.
Learning to Jump
Yesterday we discovered that Megan has been practicing her jumping! Now to teach her NOT to jump on the furniture.

Happy Birthday Daddy!
Today is my daddy’s “21” birthday. Multiply that by XÂ and add 5, and you will have the correct number 😉 . His hint to me was that it should equal 14!

Hollow Tree
We just finished reading the book Bears of Blue River for school. It is a classic book about Indiana history. We are not sure how much is true, but it was an enjoyable book.
The last chapter tells how three boys spent a week in the woods in a hollow tree. When we found this one on our walk today, we just had to play some in it.
Megan
Megan loves being outside. She often opens the screen door and just sits on the steps or goes to play under the patio.
I was experimenting with subtle ideas, and I liked this “oil painting” of Megan. If you click on the picture, the effect is much better.

After experimenting most of the afternoon, we finally learned what we were doing wrong. Now we have a new idea to perfect!
Experimenting
When Mark and I have a little time to ourselves, we have been experimenting with different photography ideas.
I discovered this idea, called Bokeh, a little while ago. We are attempting to get pictures with people, but they are not coming out right. We are getting closer though!
