On Sunday I took some time just to sit outside and relax. I listened to the children playing and enjoyed the chilly, but beautiful weather. I laughed as the hummingbirds fought over the sugar water. Then I enjoyed a wonderful dinner that Mark and Allan grilled for us.
I am one spoiled girl!
As Allan left for work, he told me the foggy morning was beautiful. I went out trying to get pictures of the fog, but discovered huge spider webs in the field.
It is such a blessing when siblings are best friends also.
On Saturday, I took my camera to the park for practice. My only goal was to try something different.
Anna is the daughter of one of Allan’s coworkers from a previous job. She is a very talented harpist and we have gone to listen to her play a few times. I always enjoy listening to her.
I practiced my photography on Anna. She was not as intimidating as a stranger!

Mark and I really liked these gears on an old tractor that we saw this weekend. We both took pictures of different parts of tractors. Just for fun, I did this picture the same way he processed his.

Happy birthday beautiful girl!
The neighbor has two husky pups that like to come visit. The kids keep returning them, but the puppies break out of their pen almost every day. They are adorable, so I use them for camera practice.
This has been a great first week of school. The kids worked hard and I decided we all needed a break this morning. We spent the morning at our favorite park. After getting some kites up, Mark rested on the ground, relaxing while he watched the kites overhead. The other kids played with kites and also enjoyed the playground.
After coming home, everyone spent time reading and working on individual projects. It was a relaxing ending to the first week of school.
Knowing that the hummingbirds would be migrating soon, I spent more time enjoying them today. Most will hide behind the feeder to eat if anyone is outside. The other one does not seem to be afraid of people and will flitter around watching us if we are on the porch. She was a willing model for a few pictures today.
For a break, I sat outside while the kid’s played. I enjoyed watching the hummingbirds that came in for a special treat.
